COVID-19: Notable Jewish Deaths

Rabbi Masud Tubul and Aryeh Even, early Jewish victims of the novel coronavirus

The first (may it be the last) death in Israel due to the novel corona virus, is 88-year-old Aryeh Even, of Jerusalem. Even was a Hungarian Holocaust survivor who died in Jerusalem’s Shaarei Zedek Hospital. The family released a statement: “We are sad we weren’t allowed to be at his side in his last moments.”

Rabbi Masud Tubul, 64, died of the corona virus Saturday night. Tubul was a heavyweight in the Chabad movement in France, managing the Beit Hanna and Chaya Mushka institutions of Paris.

May their families be comforted among the mourners of Zion and Jerusalem.
