On Tuesday, the House of Representatives, led by Jerrold Nadler, Daniel Goldman, and Jamie Raskin, introduced a resolution condemning the sharp rise in antisemitism and antisemitic incidents in the wake of the October 7th massacre in Israel. The resolution, H. Res. ll, states, “Whereas there is an alarming rise in antisemitism in the United States, as reported by the Department of Homeland Security, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Anti-Defamation League, and the American Jewish Committee.”
The resolution also acknowledges the importance of combating hate speech and violence targeted at Jewish communities. It calls for increased efforts to educate the public about the history and impact of antisemitism, as well as to promote tolerance and understanding. The House of Representatives urges law enforcement agencies to thoroughly investigate and prosecute hate crimes against Jewish individuals. Additionally, the resolution expresses solidarity with the Jewish community and reaffirms the commitment to protecting religious freedom and promoting inclusivity in the United States.
