It gets tiresome watching the mainstream media bash Trump. So some of us were glad to turn our eyes to England for a change to see their news. It seems that Queen Elizabeth’s husband, Prince Philip, has decided to retire from his public duties. You can’t really blame him, since he’s 95, but really, for the British media, it was just another excuse to share some Prince Philip gaffes—he excels at them.
Here are three gaffes (if they don’t make you laugh out loud, you’d better go back to bed for the day—you’re not fit for anything):
- “Deaf? If you are near there, no wonder you are deaf.” (to young hearing-disabled people in Cardiff, in 1999, referring to a school’s steel band).
- “You are a woman, aren’t you?”(In Kenya, in 1984, after receiving a gift from a local woman).
- “If you stay here much longer, you’ll all be slitty-eyed.” (In 1986, to British students in China, during a state visit).
