In the run up to Israeli elections, held yesterday, Prime Minister Netanyahu vowed there would be no uprooting of Jewish settlements and that a Palestinian state would not be created. These declarations took place during an interview of the Israeli premier with the Israeli Army Radio.
Asked whether the White House knew of his plans, Netanyahu said, “Sure.” Asked what Trump would say to all of this, he answered, “They will react as they will react. We will see. These are my principles.”
It is clear that the prime minister said what he thinks the people want most. The question is, now that elections are over, is if these promises will prove to be so much campaign smoke.
