The Iowa Caucus results have shown that Donald Trump has emerged as the clear winner with Nikki Haley and Ron DeSantis, a very distant second and even more distant third place. This comes as no surprise, as Trump had a strong campaign in Iowa and was able to rally his supporters. With this victory, Trump solidifies his position as one of the frontrunners in the race for the Republican nomination.
One surprise that came out of the Iowa Caucus was the decision of Vivek Ramaswamy to officially end his campaign for the presidency. Ramaswamy admitted he can no longer be considered a viable candidate. Is he hoping that by switching from presidential hopeful to Trump supporter that he might have a chance to become vice president?
His isolationist policies, and the fact that Ramaswamy has been interviewed by several antisemites, makes Jewish voters leery of the brash young former presidential candidate, especially in the wake of October 7, and the war on Hamas. It remains to be seen how Ramaswamy’s decision to endorse Trump will impact the campaign moving forward. If Ramaswamy turns into Trump’s running mate, will Republican Jews still vote for Donald J. Trump?
Stay Tuned.
