Republican Leaders Speak Out Against Biden for Not Calling Netanyahu

Republicans share the concerns of Israeli leaders regarding Biden’s snub to Netanyahu. Biden has called the leaders of China and Russia, but not Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, in what many see as a slight to Israel. Biden has spoken with at least 10 world leaders during his first month in office, but not with that of America’s closest ally in the Middle East, Israel.

Congressional Republicans are speaking out about the threat to the US-Israel alliance, at a time when Iran is stepping up its race to develop nuclear weapons. Among those who urged Biden to make that call to Netanyahu ASAP are Rep. Michael McCaul (Texas), Rep. Lee Zeldin (N.Y.), Rep. Jim Banks (R., Ind.), Rep. Ronny Jackson (R., Texas), Rep. Darrell Issa (R., Calif.), Mark Green (R., Tenn.), Rep. María Elvira Salazar (R., Fla.), and Rep. Joe Wilson (R., S.C.). These influential republicans spoke of the lack of a phone call as an embarrassment.
